1. Who we are

Get Ahead Gifts ("we", "us", "our") is an Australian gift-reminder and recommendation service. We help you remember the people who matter and suggest thoughtful gifts.

2. What we collect

Account info: email address, and (if you sign in with Google) your name and avatar.
People you add: names, relationships, birthdays, interests, and any notes you choose to save.
Usage data: pages viewed, affiliate link clicks, device/browser info, and IP address (used for security and analytics).
Optional interest sign-ups: email address when you register for product launches (e.g. Personalised Gift Boxes).

3. How we use your information

To run the reminders and recommendations features you've asked for.
To send transactional emails (e.g. birthday reminders, sign-in links).
To measure affiliate link performance and improve recommendations.
To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Affiliate links & third parties

We participate in affiliate programs (including Amazon Associates and other Australian retailers). When you click a "Shop" link, the destination retailer may set their own cookies and collect data under their own privacy policy. We only log the click slug, timestamp, and referring page on our side.

5. Data storage & security

Data is stored in secure managed databases (hosted in Australia / Asia-Pacific where available). Access is restricted via row-level security so each account can only see its own people and notes.

6. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time. Email us and we'll action your request within 30 days. You can also delete your account from within the app, which removes your saved people and profile data.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for sign-in sessions and lightweight analytics cookies to understand which gift recommendations are useful. You can clear cookies any time via your browser settings.

8. Children

Get Ahead Gifts is intended for adults (16+). We do not knowingly collect information from children. Birthdays you store about minors (e.g. your nephew) are treated as your personal contact data, not the child's account.
